Ms. Keri Stacer retired from the Huron County Prosecutor’s Office after more than 25 years of service.
On May 15 2023, Judge Prill sentenced Daniel Horetski on the most serious charge of Child Sexually Abusive Material to a minimum of 3 years and four months in prison to a maximum of 20 years.  Kevin Manor received a similar sentence.
April is Child Abuse Prevention Month, and the Huron County Prosecutor’s Office joined the CAN Council, Michigan Department of Health & Human Services, Huron County Sherriff’s Department, and Bad Axe Police Department to encourage everyone across Michigan’s Thumb region, and beyond, to take simple actions that every day can make a difference in the lives of children. #ChildAbusePreventionMonth #ThrivingFamilies
On Monday, March 6, 2023, Christopher Demara, a 40-year-old man from Kinde, pled no contest to Armed Robbery, Felony Firearm and Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Felonious Assault).
Daniel Horetski of Port Austin, and Kevin Manor of Sebewaing were both arrested during a Human Trafficking Task Force sting initiated by the Huron County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Sanilac and Tuscola County Sheriff’s Offices, the Sanilac County Drug Task Force and the Bad Axe Police Department.  On Thursday, March 2, 2023, they both pled no contest to charges that were brought.
On January 31, 2023, a Huron County jury found Erica Konke guilty of one count of Malicious Use of a Telecommunication Service.
On January 27, 2023, a Huron County jury found Tracy McDaniel guilty of one count of Embezzlement of Over $1,000 and less than $20,000, one count of False Report of a Felony, and one count of Lying to a Police Officer.

On October 12, 2022, a Huron County jury found David William Gray guilty of two counts Criminal Sexual Conduct in the 1st Degree and two counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the Second Degree.  All four counts involve the Defendant sexually assaulting two minor children when they were under the age of 13. 
On September 26, 2022, Bales pleaded no contest in the 52nd Circuit Court of Huron County as charged to Child Sexually Abusive Material, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000; Computers-Using to Commit a Crime, a felony punishable by up to 20 years in prison and a fine of up to $100,000; and Children-Accosting for Immoral Purposes, a felony punishable by up to 4 years in prison and a fine of up to $4,000.
